A Review on Zernike Coefficient-Solving Algorithms (CSAs) Used for Integrated Optomechanical Analysis (IOA)

An integrated optomechanical analysis (IOA) can predict the response of an system to temperature, gravity, vibrations, and other local loadings; thus, normal operation instruments under special conditions is guaranteed. Zernike polynomials are most popular for fitting IOA-derived mechanical deformation data. By solving coefficients all deformed optical surfaces, relationship between aberrations deformations be further revealed. The process IOA summarized in this article. principles four primary coefficient-solving algorithms (CSAs) were expounded, corresponding applications reviewed detail, including least squares method, Gram–Schmidt orthogonalized Householder transformation, singular value decomposition (SVD). Artificial neural networks (ANNs) trained a similar overdetermined set equations also discussed; innovative CSA based on one-dimensional convolutional network (1D-CNN) was proposed, emphasizing its potential CSA. feasibility method verified by conducting experiments mirror front reflection space camera. This review provide references precise optimization IOA.
